Growing Better Lives

Chillaxin with Sir Duke

It was a smaller group today as four of our members were off .  Check in was a mix of joy and struggles but felt safe and comfortable, not heavy.

We had a special visitor, Our four legged friend Duke, a Tibetan terrier, in fact we think he’s actually a Greencare member now as he loves so much. Linda, his owner says he knows when she is going to Greencare and sits in front of the door like he is asking to come along with her. She says when he gets home he is so relaxed and tired that he goes straight to sleep.

It was a relaxed day, both flora and fauna were well catered for as we watered our seeds which were a very kind gift from the EMBRACE group. We made bird cakes attaching strings so that we can hang them on the trees ensuring our feathered friends are well fed through the winter.

As always we had fun cooking lunch while some of the group tidied the yurt up (after Rex made it untidy the previous Friday!) very cosy for our afternoon’s activities.

Post pasta fatigued due to lunch we played a dodgy game of fishing (Linda and Vanessa are shocking cheaters) followed by a game of Uno (Vanessa couldn’t find a way to cheat so was a sorry loser).

After an enriching day with lots of planning for Christmas jovialities and festivities the day drew to a close as we wend our weary way down the yellow brick (leaf) road for home … ’til next week.
