Mindfulness in the Yurt
Saturday 6th May 2017
The Yurt, Iver Environment Centre, Iver 10:00 – 16:30
This day event will be led by Bruce Greenhalgh
Mindfulness is an integrative, mind-body approach to life that helps people relate effectively to their experiences. It involves paying attention to thoughts, feelings and body sensations in a way that can increase our awareness, help us manage difficult experiences, and create space for wise choices. Mindfulness as a therapeutic technique is being increasingly used in mental health services, schools, workplaces and other settings. This event will be held inside a Mongolian style Yurt, situated on an idyllic environmental site.
Activities will include:
- What is mindfulness? Basic ideas and theory
- An introduction to basic practice
- Body mindfulness/mindful walking in the environment
- Led mindfulness mediations; guidance on private practice and group reflections
